Music for the Heart
“Donor-based alternative to conventional cardiopulmonary surgery for infants and children with congenital heart disease”. A new cross-circulation technique that uses a parent donor to support blood flow and oxygenation of a child during open heart surgery, negating the need for cardiopulmonary bypass. This technique has a great potential impact in third world countries. This work is being conducted by Stephen Langley, MD, David Sahn, MD, and Michael Silberbach, MD
